The 8th day Fidau prayer of Alhaja Musili Abeni Goodluck Akodu (Alias Iya Basa), who passed away at the age of 88 years in her Epe residence on February 14, was held today February, 22nd.
The Fidau prayer which was held at the Akodu family compound in Epe was well attended by important personalities who have traveled far and near to honour the deceased including her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and well-wishers.
The chief Imam who led the Fidau prayer, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Sadalah Abiola , sermonized the people on the need to always carry out good deeds as death could at any time. He urged the people to prepare for death as it could come at any time.
While describing the late Alhaja Musilimotu Abeni Akodu, the Imam said she was a highly devoted Muslim, who always pioneered great cause towards the cause of Islam. He further attributed that the mammoth crowd gathered is a testament to the exemplary life and a life dedicated to advance the cause of humanity which was the hallmark of the deceased.
The late Alhaja Akodu was described by friends and family as a peace-loving and compassionate woman who was loved by all.
Notable dignitaries at the event were the Olu-Epe who was represented by Olori Aribike Adewale ,Otunba T.J Abass, Chief Abiola Seriki and other political leaders such as Alhaji Moshood Adewale Babijo a former member of the Federal House of Representative. Also, the Epe Muslim Community was duly represented.
The final burial is slated for April 6, 2019. Details to be announced later.
