EKO HOT BLOG reports that Godswill Akpabio, a former minister of Niger Delta affairs and senator representing Akwa Ibom north-west, paid a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
Akpabio is one of the top contenders vying for the position of Senate President.
During the visit on Saturday, Akpabio was accompanied by Barau Jibrin, senator representing Kano north and David Umahi, governor of Ebonyi state who recently dropped his bid for the Senate President position and endorsed Akpabio.
Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor of Kano, has also expressed support for Akpabio’s bid.
