In a statement issued on Wednesday by the University’s Information Officer, Femi Afolayan, the school responded to a statement made by the Kwara State Police Command on Tuesday.
The statement read: “Al-Hikmah University’s attention has been drawn to a press release by the Public Relations Officer of the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Police, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, on behalf of the state Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya.
“The suspect in the case referenced Al-Hikmah University, possibly using the institution’s name to lure the victim for his heinous act.
“We want to clarify that at no time did students of Al-Hikmah University organize such a party, as falsely claimed by the suspect.
“This clarification is necessary to reassure parents, guardians, and the University community of the safety of our students throughout their time on our campuses,” the statement concluded.
