EKO HOT BLOG reports that Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo and his Al-Hilal teammates have received a major financial boost ahead of the Club World Cup final. Billionaire Saudi prince Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud has pledged to give each player $1 million if they win the tournament, with an additional $1 million for reaching the final.
The exciting news was announced in a statement posted on the NPFL Updates Facebook page, which quoted a Twitter user, @jacobsBen, who reported the prince’s generous offer. Al-Hilal secured their place in the final after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Copa Libertadores champions Flamengo in the semi-final match held on Tuesday.
The Saudi club will now face either Real Madrid or Al Ahly, who will play in the second semi-final match on Thursday. The winner of this match will advance to the final, where they will take on Odion Ighalo and the Al-Hilal team on Saturday, February 11th.
