Aladeshonyin Calls For Unity Among Dominant Religions

By Babatunde Kaka

Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja JP, the Aladeshonyin and Paramount Ruler of the Odo-Noforija Kingdom, has implored the adherents of the three major religions – Muslims, Christians and traditionalist to imbibe the spirit brotherliness and harmony.

The monarch made the call when he played host to members of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pobo District, Eredo LCDA, Epe.

The religious body had visited the monarch to pray the Royal family and the entire Eredo LCDA in the new year, was hosted at the official palace of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, Noforija Epe, on Friday, January 8th, 2020.

He expressed delighted at the gesture of the religious body to offer annual prayers as usual for his household and the community.

Speaking with Ekohotblog, Aladeshonyin disclosed that he had a robust and lovely relationship with the three major religious institutions in his domain. This, he attributed to a cordial relationship he had with people of different faith before his ascension, and his resolve to absorb all by virtue of being king for the entrenchment of peace and unity.

” Ever before I ascended the throne, I have a cordial relationship with the Christian and Muslims. Imagine that despite being a Christian, I am the Patron of League of Imams and Alfas in the Eredo axis. This is to let you know how close we are.

“Immediately I ascended the throne, I know I have become a father to all, I have to accommodate all of them because if you don’t, there will be problems. When they tell you that this is Christian, this is Muslim, what about the traditionalists? Are you going to throw them away? So, all of them are your subjects and you deal with them accordingly.
