EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Director-General of Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation and the Baba Eto of Ilara Kingdom, Chief Folorunsho Folarin-Coker on August 15 will be commissioning the old Alara Palace and the newly constructed Aje Pavilion.
This will be in commemoration of the 2nd anniversary of the Alara of Ilara Kingdom of Epe Division, His Royal Eminence, Oba Dr Olukayode Olufolarin Ogunsanwo.
While the old palace structure which dates back to the 14th century has been given a befitting look through modern-day cutting-edge architectural and interior designs, the newly built Aje Pavilion has also been redesigned.
The choice of the Alara of Ilara kingdom to upgrade the old Alara palace and erect the Aje Pavilion can not be unconnected to the fact that the highly revered and reputable traditional ruler is resolute in exploring the rich cultural tourism potentials of the ancient kingdom which has over the years experienced the ascension of over fifty kings.
This online media platform gathered that the commissioning of the palace is also the celebration of the 2nd edition of the Aje Festival.
Taking cognisance of the need to entrench religious harmony in his domain, especially at a time like this in the country, billed to take place during the 2nd coronation anniversary is the interfaith service between Muslim and Christian faithful which will come up on Tuesday 16th August 2022.
This development is no doubt a fulfilment of the solemn pledge by the Alara of Ilara kingdom to his subordinates to always commemorate his coronation anniversary with landmark projects across the community.
