The Ooni of Ife and Adimula of Yoruba Land, His Imperial Eminence, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, on Thursday, 19th August 2021, installed well-meaning and accomplished personalities as honorary Chiefs as part of activities to mark the one year enthronement anniversary of Epe Monarch, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Telade IV, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom.
The Oonirisha, who had earlier kicked off the medley of activities to mark Alara’s one year anniversary by launching the Aje Festival in Ilara-Epe was unavoidably absent on the day, but ably represented by the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon and Vice-Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, HRM, Oba Francis Olushola Alao.

The glamourous event, which attracted first class dignitaries, traditional leaders, captains of industries, business tycoons, political office holders and government officials recorded the installation of personalities such as the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Femi Gbajabiamila and wife as Agba Akin and Yeye Agba Akin, Mr Folorunsho Folarin Coker as Baba Eto, Surveyor JK Olayemi as Asoju Oba, Dr Taiwo Olufemi Salaam as Otunba Fiwagboye and Mr Oluwaseun Afuye as Akeweje of Ilara Kingdom.
Others include former Lagos State Commissioner for Education and Commerce, Mrs Saidat Oladunjoye (Yeye Akogun), the Chairman of Ikosi Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada (Yeye Sewa), Mrs Folake Ijelu Okeowo (Bobaseye), Mr & Mrs Tunde Badejo (Gbobaniyi &Yeye Gbobaniyi).
Flanking Alara on both sides were esteemed Monarchs from Epe Division and beyond who assisted in performing the traditional rites of conferment.
The Royal Fathers of the day were the representative of Ooni of Ife, HRM Oba Francis Alao, the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu, HRM Oba (Bldr) Asumo Aderibigbe, Alade Uraka of Poka, HRM Oba Kolawole Aliru, and Onito of Ito-Omu, HRM Oba Taiwo Gbadamosi.

After these rites had been meticulously performed, Oba Olukayode Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, presented the Chiefs with their crown, staff and certificate.
Speaking in an interview with Eko Hot Blog, Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo disclosed that in his resolve to redesign the socio-economic landscape of Ilara, Eredo and Epe Division at large, he has perfected plans to kick off his pet project tagged “AGAPE.”
Alara also congratulated the concerted efforts of his chiefs, community leaders and well-meaning individuals who have pitched in their material and intellectual resources to galvanize Ilara to higher heights.
The charismatic monarch, within his one-year reign has been at the tip of the spear championing developmental strides, particularly in the areas of healthcare, infrastructural development, power, tourism development, and education.
Oba Ogunsanwo, who is already spearheading dialogue for the establishment of the Lagos State University of Education (UNEDLAG) in Epe Division is looking to consolidate on the existing institutions of higher learning in the Division to ensure qualitative education for the good people of Epe.
These institutions include; Augustine University, Ilara, Atlantic Hall secondary school Poka, Yaba College of Technology, Odo-ragunshin, Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, Noforija, Lagos State University, LASU (Satelite Campus) and Lagos State Model College, Igbonla.

The existence of Dangote Refinery, Lekki Free Trade Zone, Deep Sea Port and Alaro City in the Division, Alara believes, will boost the take-off of Ecotourism Center, Cottage Industry, Greenhouse farming project, Lagos Aquaculture Center of Excellence (LACE) and Lagos State Agro-Allied Industrial Park in Ilara, Eredo and Epe Division.
