EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Alara Of Ilara Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr Olukayode Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, Telade IV, on Thursday 20th January 2021, commended Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his recent approval to complete the construction of the Oke-Oyinbo/Awolowo Road in Epe.
Alara who spoke in an interview with EKO HOT BLOG at his Royal Palace in Ilara, Eredo LCDA, Epe underscored the need to link Epe to Ibeju-Lekki axis.

He said, “For that road itself, its completion is highly significant because it is the main link between our LCDA, Eredo, with Epe Municipal. There’s a Jetty that is being proposed to be on the Marina to transport people from Lagos Metropolis to Epe and this is one of the things we have been clamouring for. The multi-modal transport system whereby we take advantage of the aquatic splendour of Lagos by making use of the waterways for transportation.”
Oba Ogunsanwo noted that such development would boost the tourism potentials existent in the axis as it would enhance travels down to Epe.
He opined that since the 4th Mailand Bridge is being considered by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, it would not be out of place to consider linking Epe with a bridge to the industrialised Ibeju-Lekki axis through the Oke-Oyinbo road.
“People won’t really like to be living around the Refinery. They would rather prefer to live in Epe and work there. So, providing a bridge across the Lagoon to link with the Refinery would not be a bad idea and we would be very happy if Mr Governor and his team would look into this area,” he implored.
Alara applauded the Lagos State Government for its commitment to the strategic THEMES agenda which have been entrenched across sectors in Epe Division.
He, thereafter, appealed that all promises made to Epe Division should be fulfilled while also assuring the conservation of infrastructural facilities.
“On our part, we, as Royal fathers, will continue to ensure that those facilities are not destroyed. They will be well-protected and we will be looking forward to many other amenities that will make life easier and more comfortable for our people. We can not thank them enough, but like Oliver Twist, we are asking for more so that Epe Division will also be at par with other Divisions in Lagos State,” he said.
