Alara Of Ilara Bags Key Appointment From National Council Of Traditional Rulers

Alara of Ilara has bagged a key appointment from the National Council of Traditional Rulers.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) has appointed Alara of Ilara- Epe, Lagos State, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo as one of the coordinators for Southwest.

The appointment is credited to the monarch’s consistency, contributions, service, commitment to peace, unity, religious harmony, culture and promotion of the traditional institution.

Alara, who is widely respected in and outside his kingdom, is expected to use his wealth of experience to steer the council in the right direction.

The NCTRN also appointed Oore of Otun Ekiti and the Paramount Ruler of Mobaland, Ekiti State, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, as the other coordinator for the geopolitical zone.

The appointment of the two frontline monarchs was announced in Abuja on Monday during a Special Meeting of the Council which was attended by select traditional rulers from the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.

The Chairman of the Council, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar and the Co-Chairman, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunmusi, Ojaja II, congratulated Oba Ogunsanwo and Oba Adeagbo on the appointment.

The council expressed confidence that the traditional rulers would justify the confidence reposed in them by the NCTRN culminating in their appointment by delivering in their assignments.

Meanwhile, the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Traditional Matters, Ho Ari Mohammed Abdulmumin, has also congratulated the Alara of Ilara-Epe and the Oore of Otun Ekiti as the new Southwest Coordinators of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria.

The appointment means the Alara and the Oore have been elevated to members of the National Executive Committee of the NCTRN.

In their reactions, Oba Adeagbo and Oba Ogunsanwo thanked the Sultan of Sokoto and the Ooni of Ife for the appointments.
