Eko Hot Blog reports that Alibaba’s new CEO, Eddie Wu, has said that the company will focus on being user-first and using artificial intelligence (AI). He also said that he wants to get more young people born after 1985 into management positions.
Wu’s comments come as Alibaba is going through a big change. The company is splitting into six different businesses. Wu will be the CEO of both Alibaba and its cloud computing unit.
Wu said that AI will be important in all sectors in the next decade. He warned that companies that don’t keep up with AI will be left behind.
Alibaba beat analyst expectations in its first-quarter earnings report last month. However, the company is facing challenges from increased competition and a slowing Chinese economy.
