Aliko Dangote Receives Senegalese National Award – The National Order Of the Lion

The award was presented by President Macky Sall of the Republic of Senegal in a ceremony scheduled for Friday, according to a statement released on Thursday.

The National Order of the Lion Award stands as the highest civilian accolade that can be bestowed upon an individual in Senegal, underscoring the significance of this honor for Aliko Dangote.

The recognition is a testament to the impactful services he has provided to the Republic of Senegal and a tribute to his business acumen, philanthropic efforts, and transformative developmental projects across Africa.

The statement highlighted the Dangote Group’s presence in Senegal, particularly its Cement Plant in Pout, which likely contributed to the acknowledgment of Dangote’s role in the country’s development.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extended his congratulations to the billionaire businessman, acknowledging Dangote’s enterprise, ingenuity, and the positive impact of his ventures.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Tinubu praised Dangote for creating jobs and opportunities in Nigeria and West Africa, emphasizing the significance of the award in affirming Dangote’s contributions to regional economies.

“The award further affirms his commitment to development in Africa,” stated Tinubu.

Further, President Macky Sall, in his commendation, expressed admiration for Dangote’s accomplishments and wished him continued success in his endeavors.
