Aliko Dangote Regains Top Spot As Africa’s Richest On 2024 Forbes Billionaires List
EKO HOT NLOG reports Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, has reclaimed his position as the wealthiest individual in Africa with a net worth of $13.9 billion, according to the recently released 2024 Forbes list.

Dangote briefly lost the top spot to South African business mogul Johann Rupert but experienced a decline in wealth, dropping to $9.7 billion by January 4, 2024, resulting in a $3.8 billion loss.
Forbes noted a slight rebound in the fortunes of Africa’s wealthiest, totaling $82.4 billion for the 20 billionaires listed, up by $900 million from the previous year.
Femi Otedola, Executive Chairman of Geregu Power Plc, secured the 19th position among Africa’s richest individuals, boasting a net worth of $1.1 billion.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery, located in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, played a pivotal role as seven major oil marketers, including NNPC Retail, registered with the facility for refined petroleum products.
Despite challenges like fluctuating currencies and political uncertainty, Africa’s billionaires demonstrate resilience, with Dangote securing the top position for the 13th consecutive year.
