All About The 95th Oscars Nominees
  • The Hollywood Academy awards ceremony comes up with the event taking place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, U. S.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the 95th edition of the Academy Awards, popularly known as the Oscars, held on Sunday, at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, United States. The ceremony, which is held yearly by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will honour films released in 2022.

This year’s nominations are led by Multiverse sci-fi smash “Everything Everywhere All at Once” which has received the highest nomination in 11 categories. Irish dark comedy “The Banshees of Inisherin” and World War I flick “All Quiet on the Western Front” follow closely with nine nominations each.

The nominees for the major categories include “All Quiet on the Western Front”, “Avatar: The Way of Water”, “The Banshees of Inisherin”, “Elvis”, “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, “The Fabelmans”, “Tar”, “Top Gun: Maverick”, “Triangle of Sadness”, and “Women Talking” for Best Picture.

For Best Director, the nominees are Martin McDonagh for “The Banshees of Inisherin”, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, Steven Spielberg for “The Fabelmans”, Todd Field for “Tar”, and Ruben Ostlund for “Triangle of Sadness”.

The Best Actor category features Austin Butler for “Elvis”, Colin Farrell for “The Banshees of Inisherin”, Brendan Fraser for “The Whale”, Paul Mescal for “Aftersun”, and Bill Nighy for “Living”.

In the Best Actress category, the nominees are Cate Blanchett for “Tar”, Ana de Armas for “Blonde”, Andrea Riseborough for “To Leslie”, Michelle Williams for “The Fabelmans”, and Michelle Yeoh for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”.

The Best Supporting Actor category features Brendan Gleeson for “The Banshees of Inisherin”, Brian Tyree Henry for “Causeway”, Judd Hirsch for “The Fabelmans”, Barry Keoghan for “The Banshees of Inisherin”, and Ke Huy Quan for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”.

For Best Supporting Actress, the nominees include Angela Bassett for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, Hong Chau for “The Whale”, Kerry Condon for “The Banshees of Inisherin”, Jamie Lee Curtis for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, and Stephanie Hsu for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”.

The Best International Feature Film category features “All Quiet on the Western Front” from Germany, “Argentina, 1985” from Argentina, “Close” from Belgium, “EO” from Poland, and “The Quiet Girl” from Ireland.

In the Best Animated Feature category, the nominees include “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio”, “Marcel the Shell With Shoes On”, “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish”, “The Sea Beast”, and “Turning Red”.

Lastly, for the Best Documentary Feature, the nominees include “All That Breathes”, “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed”, “Fire of Love”, “A House Made of Splinters”, and “Navalny”.

The films with seven or more nominations are “Everything Everywhere All at Once” with 11 nominations, “Dune” with 10 nominations, “Belfast” with 9 nominations, “West Side Story” with 8 nominations, and “The Power of the Dog” with 7 nominations.
