EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ghanaian event executive, Nii Ofori Tackie, also known as Alordia, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing debate about Ghanaian artistes selling out concerts at the O2 Arena.

Following Medikal’s successful show at the Indigo venue, the conversation has gained momentum.

In a recent interview with Joy Prime, Alordia expressed that Black Sherif lacks the clout to sell out a concert at the O2 Arena.

However, he believes King Promise has the global appeal to fill the 20,000-capacity venue.

According to Alordia, Ghana needs more time, approximately two years, to achieve a sold-out concert at the O2 Arena.

He emphasized that timing and market reach are crucial factors, rather than an artiste’s capability.

Alordia stated, “King Promise would not only attract local fans but also international audiences to his shows.

If King Promise is doing a show right now, I bet you he will get some people from foreign countries to come.”

King Promise recently sold out his debut Asian tour, performing in Singapore, Bali, and Indonesia.

In 2021, Alordia mentioned that even if 20 Ghanaian artistes collaborated, selling out the O2 Arena would still be impossible.

The conversation about Ghanaians achieving a breakout moment at the O2 Arena has been ongoing for a while.

Media and marketing executive, Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh, emphasized the importance of data-driven insights when assessing an artiste’s potential.

He agreed with Alordia that Black Sherif needs to solidify his fan base in the UK before attempting to sell out the O2 Arena.

However, he also noted that effective marketing and promotion can make a significant difference.
