EKO HOT BLOG reports that the immediate past governor of Lagos State, the Epe-born technocrat cum politician, Akinwunmi Ambode, has reiterated the importance of mobilising the youths towards the 2023 election.
The youths can form a critical mass if only they leverage on their numerical strength by not being indifferent to the political process and acquiring their Permanent Voters Card (PVC), Ambode says.

In his post on social media, Ambode, 58, alluded to the power of the youth, particularly the PVC-armed youths.
He also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Lagosians for their overwhelming support for the moderate growth witnessed in the state.
In 2019, Ambode lost in gubernatorial primary election to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, denying him an opportunity to run for second term. He eventually supported Sanwo-Olu campaign that brought about smooth transition in the state.
“After all we have been through, God has been faithful,” Ambode said. “Thank you for the overwhelming endorsement of our modest contributions to the growth of Lagos.
“It can only get better for Lagos, and indeed Nigeria. The youths are coming. The power is in their hands.
“Go and get your Permanent Voters Card (PVC) ready. Your future is NOW!”
This newspaper understands that there are over 84 million registered voters in Nigeria.
The Nigerian youths aged 18-40 constitute more than 60 percent of the registered voters. Some analysts say this an indication that the Nigerian youths have the power to change the direction of Nigeria, even if the political leadership is not ready to share power with them.
