AMBSAM Memorial Foundation Congratulates New APC Vice-Chairman, Olayinka Oladunjoye

A civic group, AMBSAM Memorial Foundation, has congratulated former Lagos state commissioner, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye following her emergence as vice-chairman of the Lagos State chapter (South-east) of the All Progressives Congress.

As gathered by Eko Hot Blog, the legal luminary and distinguished public servant emerged the new vice-chairman of the Lagos APC (Southeast) following her victory at the polls during the party’s internal election held on Saturday, October 16th, 2021.

A two-time commissioner for Commerce and Education in Lagos state has served in various capacities both in the public and private sectors before foraying into the world of politics.

Born into the family of Chief Stephen Olaitan Anwoju family in Epe, Lagos state, Olayinka Oladunjoye attended Holy Child College, Lagos between 1971- 1975 and Federal Government College, Odogbolu between 1976-1978.

She proceeded to University of Lagos {UNILAG}, where she obtained a B.A in History in 1981 and a Master of Arts Degree in History by [dissertation] between 1982- 1986. In 1997 she obtained an LL.B Degree from the same institution and would later proceed to Nigerian Law School, Abuja and was called to bar [1998-1999].

Olayinka began her career as a Graduate Assistant in 1983 with the department of History, [UNILAG] while also shuffling as a Classroom Teacher at Gbagada Comprehensive High School, Lagos, between 1983-1985.

She joined the Lagos State Ministry of Youths, Sports and Social Development as a Sports Officer /Project Officer in 1987-1990 and has worked in various Ministries like Finance (1990-1995) as a Research Officer and Lagos State Public Works Department as Senior Administrative Officer in 1995.

Making a return to the private sector, Olayinya joined an Insurance where she rose to the position of CEO/Executive Director until her appointment as the Honorable Commissioner for Education, Lagos State, during the second term in office of Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN led administration in Lagos State.

Olayinka Oladunjoye boasts of several Professional Qualifications in her long and distinguished career as a civil and public servant, they include – Associate, Chartered Insurance Institute of London(ACCI London) 1994. Chartered Insurer, Chartered Insurance Institute of London[ACCIILondon] 1996. Associate, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria(CIIN) 1997. Member, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) 1999 and Associate, Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (ACIB) 2004.

She has also won distinguished awards such as University of Lagos Scholarship & Bursary award [1982] and award of excellence by the Lagos State Government (1995).

Mrs. Oladunjoye has also been hailed as a humanist with exceptional interpersonal relations and man-management skills; she has championed several humanitarian projects and also shares a healthy enthusiasm for mental health as a necessary index for producing the total and effective human being.

Several former associates and colleagues have taken to social media to congratulate the distinguished lawyer for adding yet another feather to her glittering cap.
