EKO HOT BLOG reports that Billie Eilish, the Grammy award-winning American singer, has recently revealed that she is currently obsessed with the song ‘Flames’ by Nigerian Afrobeat star, Wizkid. The revelation was made during a question-and-answer session with her fans on Instagram.
A fan asked the ‘Happier Than Ever’ crooner, “What song are you obsessed with these days?” To which, Billie Eilish replied with a picture of ‘Flames (Who’s Gonna Know)’ by Wizkid.
‘Flames’ is a track from Wizkid’s fifth studio album ‘Made In Lagos’ which was released in 2020 via Starboy Entertainment, Sony Music, and RCA Records. The album features collaborations with a number of international artists, including Damian Marley, Skepta, and H.E.R.
Billie Eilish’s appreciation for Wizkid’s music has come as a pleasant surprise to many, especially considering that the two artists are from completely different parts of the world and have vastly different styles of music.
Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer who has been making waves in the music industry for over a decade. He has collaborated with several international artists, including Drake, Beyoncé, and Major Lazer.
Billie Eilish, on the other hand, has been a dominant force in the American music scene since her debut in 2015. She has won multiple Grammy Awards and has been hailed as one of the most unique and innovative artists of her generation.
It remains to be seen whether Billie Eilish’s appreciation for Wizkid’s music will lead to a collaboration between the two artists in the future. However, her endorsement of ‘Flames’ is sure to introduce Wizkid’s music to a wider audience outside of his native Nigeria.
