Aminat Yusuf Sets New LASU Record With Perfect 5.00 CGPA
Eko Hot Blog reports that Aminat Imoitesemeh Yusuf, a graduate of the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, has set a new record for Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in the institution by graduating with a perfect 5.00 CGPA.
The Vice-Chancellor of LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, made the disclosure at a pre-convocation briefing on Wednesday.

It is the first time a graduate of the Lagos-based university will graduate with a perfect CGPA in its 40-year history.
The history maker graduated from the Faculty of Law.
According to Olatunji-Bello, Yusuf will be rewarded with N500,000 at the 2-in-1 convocation ceremony for the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic sessions.
“For the 2021/2022 academic session, we have Yusuf Aminat Imoitesemeh, Law with a CGPA of 5.00 First Class Honours,” she said.
“I am also glad to announce that Yusuf Aminat Imoitesemeh, with a CGPA of 5.00 (First Class Honours) is LASU’s best-graduating student in history. I congratulate her, her family and the Faculty of Law on this laudable feat.”

The LASU VC also disclosed that the university would graduate 10,183, out of which 282 students obtained First Class in different fields.
She explained that Yusuf is of the 2021/2022 academic session, while Lopez Feyisayo Divine of the 2020/2021 set is from the Department of Physiology, College of Medicine, and made a 4.91 CGPA.
Olatunji-Bello said the award of diplomas, first degrees, postgraduate diplomas and master’s degrees will hold on Wednesday, June 21.
The final day of the ceremonies, Thursday, June 22, will witness the award of PhDs, distinguished professorship, and the conferment of honorary doctorate degrees and appreciation awards on some eminent Nigerians.
The honorary awardees include the former governor, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, wife of the state governor, Mrs Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and Oba Saheed Elegushi.
Others are Dr. Daniel Olukoya, Dr. John Olukayode Fayemi, Olufemi Gbajabimila, Oba Suleiman Raji Ashade, and Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.
Yusuf, LASU’s best graduating student of all time, is an alumnus of Al-Hikmah College in Lagos.
She is a distinguished and academically astute Law graduate with a proven track record of excellence.
With developed interest in the areas of Corporate & Commercial Law Practice, intellectual curiosity propelled her to take up finance-based courses, one of which is the CFA Investment Foundations Program.
