Amity As Eko Club International Quarterly Conference Holds In Ohio

  • Since its inception on the stroke of the new Millennium, Eko Club International has continued to foster cooperation and collaboration, unity, brotherhood and sisterhood amongst its members.

The apex socio-cultural and socio-political community of Lagosians in the diaspora, Eko Club International, on Friday, June 25, 2021, held its Quarterly Conference & Awards, amid rapturous camaraderie and fellowship.

The event, which held at the Doubletree Hilton in Columbus, Ohio, provided an opportunity for club members to meet after 18 months of lay-off occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic.

As earlier reported by Eko Hot Blog, the quarterly conference, which constitutes one of the core activities/programs of the club, is aimed towards conducting an objective appraisal of the club’s achievements during the last quarter and also recognize the contributions of its members who have used their personal resources for the gratification of the community of Lagosians at home and abroad.

Since its inception on the stroke of the new Millennium, Eko Club International has continued to foster cooperation and collaboration, unity, brotherhood and sisterhood amongst its members, empowering them politically, socially and economically to contribute positively to the advancement and prosperity of Lagos State, Nigeria’s Centre of Excellence.

The President, Lanre Ojo, during the reception held at the banquet hall, expressed his appreciation to all the members for their unwavering allegiance and steadfast support towards his administration, particularly in view of the daunting challenges faced on individual and collective levels within the last year.

Lanre noted that the moderate success of his administration would not have been possible without the contributions of the members who have remained dogged in their commitment to the club.

He outlined the programme for the next few days, which will include a one-hour walk for life, outreach to the Nigeria Muslim community and awards for deserving members of the organization.

On Saturday, June 26, 2021, the club embarked on an outreach programme to a community organisation, as part of the activities to mark its first physical quarterly conference in 18 months.

Attorney O.J Lawal, President Emeritus, in a chat with Eko Hot Blog, hailed the growth of the organization, which comprises of members across America, Canada and Europe.

Within the space of two decades, the club has metamorphosed from 3 chapters to almost 30 branches in the USA.

Another Emeritus President and a founding member of the club, Otunba TJ Abass, Publisher, Eko Hot Blog, expressed delight at the tremendous strides recorded by the club, which, according to him, has become a benchmark for any diaspora organization.
