Eko Hot Blog reports that the 8th-day Fidau prayer for Madam Mumimat Olabisi Ayanwale was held on Sunday, February 13, 2023, amid glowing tributes of a life well-spent and dedicated towards the advancement of humanity.
Madam Muminat, a devout member of the Epe community, died at 75 on Sunday, February 6, 2023, and has been buried according to Islamic rites.
At her Fidau prayer, clerics, children, grandchildren, friends, and well-wishers from home and abroad converged at the Popo Oba Square, Epe, Lagos, to offer prayers and to be part of the celebration of her life.
Several clerics offered prayers and sermons. The clerics also extolled the passion and dedication of the deceased toward the advancement of humanity and the several lives she touched.
They further urged the children and grandchildren to make sure they carry on the legacy of their late mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
“Death is inevitable and a testament to God’s supremacy on all mortals, the clerics preached, but the consolation is predicated on the impact on humanity.
“This is the story of our late mother, and everyone should emulate the late Madam Muminat spirit of altruism and humility,” the Chief Imam concluded.
In an Interview with Eko Hot Blog, Mr. Olatunde Sanni Oladunjoye, the deceased’s brother, described his late sister as a “loving, caring, and selfless mother who helped train a lot of people in the community. She was always wiling to help people climb the ladder of success even at her discomfort.”
“My sister was a wonderful, selfless, and awesome woman who was good to everybody. She helped train many of the people you see here on her own,” he said.
One of the deceased’s daughters, Bola Ayanwale, also paid tribute to her mother, describing her as diligent, thoughtful, and brave.
“Being selfless is an understatement, as my mother is one of the strongest, most protective, and loving mom one can ever pray for,” she said.
The deceased’s son, Yinka Muyideen Ayanwale, spoke about his late mother’s mother’s kindness that made her a darling of several people in the community.
“The people gathered here in multitudes should tell you the kind of person she is. She is a very caring and loving mother, who is very accommodating,” he said.
“She is the kind of mother you’ll ever hope to have in your life. She is the best mother in the whole world.”
The immediate sister of the deceased, Tinuke Nee-Thani, described her sister as a family person who always made her know she was loved and valued.
“She was my sister, confidant, and helper, and she taught us to value the essence of family and never to let the family down,” she said.
