Anambra Commissioner and Wife Freed After Kidnapping Ordeal
Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Mba, and his wife have regained their freedom after spending a harrowing day in captivity.
A well-placed government source, speaking anonymously, confirmed their release late Saturday night.
“The kidnapped Commissioner of Youth Development and his wife have been released today. To God be the glory. The state government will soon issue a statement on that,” the source revealed.
The couple was abducted by armed men on Friday while traveling along the Edo-Kogi Expressway.

They were on their way to Abuja to attend the wedding of Adaora, the daughter of the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, which took place on Saturday.
The commissioner and his wife were reportedly traveling in a commercial Toyota Sienna bus with other passengers when they were ambushed.
Tragically, one of the commissioner’s aides, who was also on the trip, lost his life during the attack.
As of now, the state government has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
