Wynne denied the allegations, claiming the police never invited him to address the accusations.
However, police spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi insisted that Wynne had been given the opportunity to come forward and prove his innocence, stating, “We have established offences against him, and his accomplices have been charged in court. Let him come and meet us to defend himself as a leader.”

In an interview on Wednesday, Wynne expressed his refusal to surrender, citing the torture of his employee, Yomi, who was arrested and allegedly tortured for three days.
Wynne, 70, said, “The police say I should give myself up if I’m innocent. I am innocent, but I won’t survive if I surrender. It’s not just fear of torture, it’s fear for my life.”
Given the current situation, he emphasised that he believes he wouldn’t survive the year if he returned to Nigeria.
