EKO HOT BLOG reports that reality star and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Angel Smith, has advised young women to vote for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, in the upcoming election.

Smith made the appeal via her Twitter handle, citing the rising cost of clothing by online vendors as the reason.

She urged “bad b*tches” to vote for Obi so that items such as crop tops can become affordable again for young women.

She tweeted: “Bad b*tches please vote for Obi, one Nigerian vendor is selling pretty little thing crop top for 60k”.

Meanwhile, Smith has also shared her own struggles with homelessness and the death of her boyfriend on her podcast, ‘Of Blood, Bones and Water’. She said the podcast was inspired by her experiences and aimed to normalize vulnerability, so people can feel safe in sharing their own struggles.

Smith also addressed the issue of domestic abuse, stating that leaving an abusive relationship is not always easy, and advising victims to seek help from friends, family members, therapists or anyone who can assist them.

She encouraged victims to ensure that they are never alone with their abusers and to inform people close to them that if anything happens to them, their abusers should be held responsible.

She said: “It was inspired by struggle and silence. I struggled so much growing up, and I said it while in BBN; from self-harm to sexual assault, physical assault, the death of my boyfriend and homelessness because I had left home.

“It felt like the universe was taunting me, and I went through all that while having a social media presence that seemed jovial.

“That was because I was silent. Sometimes, people judge one for always being sad. So, people choose to struggle in silence. I started the podcast to normalise vulnerability. I want people to feel safe in their vulnerability.”
