A group of angry people beheaded and burnt five armed robbers ablaze on Saturday in Akwa Ikot Effanga community, Akwabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State.
According to reports, 7-man gang allegedly broke into a shop at about 3am on Saturday, October 17, and stole electronic gatgets worth thousands of naira and undisclosed amount of money.
Reacting to the incident, angry youths of the community attack the suspects. In the process, five of them were caught while two managed to escape leaving the rest to face jungle justice.
The video from the scene shows the remains of the suspected robbers and a motorcycle in flames. The head of one of the suspects was missing from his neck.
Speaking with one of the youths, he condemned the act, called it an inhumane and a wicked act. He implored the Nigerian police to immedately arrest the culprits.
According to reports, the community is currently under scrutiny by the state government to ensure such incidence would not repeat itself.
