Animashaun Debunks Retrenchment Rumours, Sets Sight At Ghost Workers

The Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon Princess Surah Animashaun has cleared the air on rumours making the rounds the town that her administration hit the ground running with the mass retrenchment of Contract members of staff of the populous Fish Basket of Lagos.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the former Supervisor of Environment cum Local Government Chairman, debunked the erroneous news which has spread like a wildfire across the nooks and cranes of the town on Tuesday 10th August 2021 during the visit of some Epe Political gladiators to the Local Government premises.
She noted that it was pertinent for her to terminate the appointment of the Non-Pensionable members of staff to properly scrutinise them with a view to identifying ghost workers. She however added that those affected, almost 600 of them, were directed to immediately reapply for recruitment.
Meanwhile, the Apex leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Epe Division and Member, Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu, Epe Federal Constituency Lawmaker, Hon Wale Raji (MHR), Lagos State House of Assembly Member representing Epe Constituency I, Hon Abiodun Tobun, the Alakoso of Epe kingdom, Barrister Omodele Ibrahim, other Party Stalwarts and the Local Government Medical Chief (MOH) Dr Nurein Aiyeola, were sighted inspecting various facilities in the premises in the company of the Chairperson, Hon Princess Surah Animashaun.

She told reporters that the visit was an acquaintance exercise necessary for the smooth take-off of her young administration, as areas where the Local Government requires unwavering support. She averred that such a gesture would in no little measure reposition the LG in terms of delivering her people-oriented campaign promises.
