Animashaun Hails Emergence Of Barrister Oladunjoye As APC State Vice-chairman

Princess Surah Animashaun hails Barrister Oladunjoye as she emerges APC State Vice-Chairman.

Ekohotblog reports that the Chairman of Epe Local Government, Princess Surah Animashaun, has congratulated the newly elected Lagos State Vice-Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Barrister Olayinka Oladunjoye.

Animashaun also hailed the leadership of the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the ingenuity demonstrated in entrusting the party’s affairs to a celebrated female personality and illustrious daughter from Epe Division.

The commendation from Chairman, who is still basking in the euphoria of her earlier emergence in the Local Government election as the first female chairman to ascend the coveted throne in Epe Division, is coming on the heels of the party’s State Congress held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Onikan Stadium, where Oladunjoye was elected.

Speaking with Ekohotblog on the development, Animashaun revels on the positive roles played by women in entrenching the gains of democratic governance.

She was not oblivious of the fact that women, more than oftentimes, are gradually breaking new grounds in various political leadership capacities.

“Nigerian women have continued to break glass ceilings even more so within the areas of political participation and leadership. Women’s engagement is very crucial to achieving a robust democracy and sustainable governance and for a long time, women were under-represented at various levels of decision making in the country. Fortunately, more women are now occupying leadership positions in politics, making active contributions in policymaking and nation-building and excelling at it,” she said.

The emergence of a female member with such enviable clout in governance across Lagos State, she said, is a symbolic message to womenfolk that the APC remains a party that is very gender friendly and embraces Gender equality.

However, she praised the emergence of Hon Kehinde Adeniyi as the new State Welfare Secretary, a position previously held by another Epe-born illustrious daughter, Alhaja Ramota Bankole.

She said, “It is indeed inspiring to see and nothing is stopping more women from actively participating in politics. I was motivated by the strong women before me and I hope that my emergence will encourage more women within my community to contest for and occupy more political offices which is why it is very important for those of us who already occupy these offices to hold ourselves to high standards and continue to excel at our appointed tasks; to set good track records for ourselves and also become great examples for the women who will occupy political positions in the nearest future.”

Animashaun expressed gratitude to God and the National Leader, Bola Hammed Tinubu, who she described as “God’s chosen” for deciding it was time for women.

She disclosed that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was able to see beyond the ordinary in terms of human capacity with women.

“I implore all women to keep moving and keep representing. They should not limit themselves to the home, people and things surrounding them but should keep hoping and praying for a greater Epe, Lagos, Nigeria and the world at large.

“We are the “salt” in politics, governance, our homes and the world. God himself is showcasing and announcing our prestige and efficacy to the world. I am a symbol and likewise Barrister Oladunjoye, we are the embodiment of God’s grace and authority,” she stated.

Before the emergence of Barrister Oladunjoye, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, a former Lagos Commissioner for Agriculture held sway on the exalted seat, the development has no doubt compelled the neighbouring Ikorodu Division to pass the baton to Epe Division as the undisputed Political heavyweight across Lagos East.

Barrister Oladunjoye Olayinka is a well-grounded politician with enviable experience in governance and one of the several loyal, resilient and dedicated members of the Lagos APC whose immense contributions in several capacities have paved the way for the Progress of Lagos State in years past.

Her track records as a former Commissioner for Education in Lagos State during His Excellency, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN)’s administration, where she initiated enviable programs and policies. In another instance, she served as the Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives in the glorious administration of His Excellency, Akinwunmi Ambode.

Her commitment towards the growth of Lagos and Epe did not go unnoticed as she was honoured with a Chieftaincy Title, Yeye Akogun of the Ilara Kingdom by His Royal Majesty Oba Dr Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Telade IV, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom.
