The Take It Back Movement, a major organizer of the #EndBadGovernance protests, has announced a massive one-million-man demonstration scheduled for this Saturday across all 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Sanyaolu Juwon, the national coordinator of the movement, revealed this plan on Thursday in Abuja.
He stated, “On August 10, the Take It Back Movement (TIB) will spearhead a monumental protest involving one million participants in each state and the FCT, alongside other organizers and organizations.”
“This event will be a pivotal moment in our ongoing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria campaign, which launched on August 1, 2024.
Initially planned as a 10-day protest, it has grown into a broad and sustained movement with participants from across Nigeria and the diaspora.”
The protest, as reported by EKO HOT BLOG, began on August 1 and is set to conclude on Saturday, August 10.
Despite President Bola Tinubu’s call for demonstrators to halt their protests to allow his administration more time to address their concerns, demonstrations continue in Kano, Abuja, and other regions.
In response, the Nigerian Government has placed the sponsors of the #EndBadGovernance protests on a watchlist. Kemi Nandap, Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), announced on Tuesday in Abuja that anyone on the list who attempts to return to Nigeria from abroad will be arrested upon arrival.
This follows a strategic meeting convened by Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Musa, during which the crackdown order given by President Tinubu was discussed.
