Famous Nigerian boxing pundit Bamidele Bakare has praised Anthony Joshua, the two-time former heavyweight world champion, for his heartwarming visit to his hometown in Ogun State during the festive season.

The British-Nigerian boxing star, often referred to as AJ, made headlines after reuniting with relatives and immersing himself in the local culture in Sagamu.

Born Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua in Watford, Hertfordshire, the star boxer is the son of Yeta and Robert Joshua. His mother is Nigerian, and his father has both Nigerian and Irish ancestry, with roots tracing back to the Yoruba people. Joshua’s cousin, Ben Ileyemi, is also a professional boxer, and the duo made their professional debuts together in 2013.
