Anthony Joshua’s Nigerian Tour Continues With Courtesy Visit To Abike Dabiri-Erewa

Renowned Nigerian-British boxer and two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua recently visited Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).

Accompanied by his family, Joshua paid a courtesy visit to Dabiri-Erewa at her Lagos residence.

Dabiri-Erewa expressed immense joy at hosting the global icon, praising his remarkable achievements in boxing and his exemplary representation of Nigerians on the global stage. She described him as an inspiration to countless young Nigerians aspiring to excel in their chosen fields.

Sharing her excitement on X (formerly Twitter), Dabiri-Erewa wrote: “Hosting the champ himself, and members of his family, Anthony Oluwafemi Joshua . A man of unparalleled humility, strength, grace and character . A champ indeed! A champ forever 🙏🏿#ProudlyNigerian”

 

Joshua’s visit to Dabiri-Erewa is part of his broader efforts to reconnect with his roots during his time in Nigeria.

Dabiri, in her statement while welcoming Joshua, appealed to Nigerians at home and abroad to remain patient with the current administration, emphasizing that President Tinubu is committed to fulfilling his Renewed Hope agenda.

In response, Joshua expressed his gratitude to Nigerians for the overwhelming support he has received so far.

He had earlier met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, and shared cherished moments with the people of his hometown in Sagamu, Ogun State.

 

Dabiri-Erewa’s commitment to advocating for Nigerians in the diaspora is evident through her role in organizing the Nigerian Diaspora Investment Summit, which connects Nigerian expatriates with investment opportunities back home.

Her initiatives to tackle the challenges Nigerians face abroad have garnered significant attention, with the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) actively addressing issues such as dual citizenship and ensuring the safety of Nigerians living overseas.
