Anti-War Protesters Confront Police in Melbourne

Hundreds of anti-war protesters have converged outside the Land Forces International Land Defence Exposition in Melbourne on Wednesday, leading to clashes with police and road closures.

The biennial defence exhibition drew a large crowd of demonstrators, who chanted pro-Palestine slogans through loudspeakers and attempted to cross barricades.

Riot squad officers blocked protesters who tried to breach the barriers, while one individual climbed atop a stopped truck at the traffic lights.

Police deployed capsicum spray to disperse parts of the crowd, as protesters shouted at delegates attending the conference.
