There was panic at the Eid praying ground in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, as supporters of the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, clashed on Tuesday.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the supporters of the politicians engaged in a shouting match at the Eid praying ground as security operatives had a hectic time controlling the crowd.
It was learnt that Governor AbdulRazaq arrived at the venue around 9:08am, with Saraki and the Chief Imam of Ilorin already seated.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that as the governor made his way through the crowd, his supporters cheered him with chants of “Sai Rahman!”, Sai Rahman!”.
Few minutes after Governor AbdulRazaq took his seat, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Solih, commenced the prayer apparently to calm the situation.

However, shortly after the end of the two-unit prayer, supporters of Saraki and some worshippers started to shout “Sai Bukky”, “Sai Bukky”.
As the situation was getting nervous, EKO HOT BLOG learnt that the Kwara State Governor left the venue with some of his supporters while the “Sai Bukky” chants continued.
The development, it was gathered, diverted the people’s attention from listening to the sermon of the Chief of Imam who led the prayer at 9:13 before slaughtering his ram at 9:25am.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that Governor Abdulrazaq and Saraki have not been on good terms since the latter was dislodged through the “O’toge revolution” in Kwara State.
