Anxiety As Military Helicopters Bomb Suspected IPOB Camps In Delta

  • “Illah is the base of IPOB. They came from Onitsha, Anambra State to regroup in Illah. We must tell them they are not welcomed in the state.”

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the residents of Asaba and lllah community in Oshimili South and North Local Government Area of Delta State were on Thursday thrown into panic as helicopters hovered around the area, bombing suspected settlements of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).

It was gathered that the helicopters, which conveyed a combined team of Airforce, police, Army, and Navy, were combing the area for IPOB members.

Some of the residents, who spoke on the incident, stated that the aircraft flew low over houses.

“The helicopters passed two times this morning and then we heard booms. Why are they targeting non-existent IPOB and where were they when faceless Fulani herdsmen wrote a threat letter to attack Delta?

“The military aircraft has been disturbing the serenity of our communities and this should stop. We have babies, small children, and aged persons who can die from shock,” a resident said.

As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the latest development was confirmed by the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Ari.

The police commissioner disclosed that a security team led by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) led an operation where some members of IPOB were bombed in Delta State.

Ari added that the police used the helicopters in the state capital and lllah to disperse members of the IPOB and send a signal to them that the command is in charge.

“Illah is the base of IPOB. They came from Onitsha, Anambra State to regroup in Illah. We must tell them they are not welcomed in the state.

“Delta State would be hot for them. Once we identify them from the air, we shall make sure we send them parking and if care is not taken, deal with them the way they want,” the police commissioner stated.

While speaking, the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, described the situation as a hoax.

Edafe, who spoke in Asaba, said people were just spreading unfounded rumour, insisting that there was nothing like the attack in the community.
