No fewer than twelve cows have been reported dead following a thunder strike in Urhodo-Ovu community of Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
A source, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the thunder struck over twelve cows after a brief rain in the community.
The source added that the herdsmen were seated close to the cows while others were taken to another area of the bush for grazing when the incident occurred, noting that the dead cows got swollen a few minutes they were killed by the thunder strike.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the strange death of the cows sent fear in the minds of the herders who after the incident took to their heels and later returned.
It was further learnt that before the day of the incident, the farm owners had at several times warned the herders to stop taking their cows to their cassava farm but refused to listen until the incident occurred.
Villagers, who expressed shock at the incident, said the thunder strike would be a warning to the herders who take their cows to destroy farmlands.
