EKO HOT BLOG reports that the residents of Abakaliki, the Ebonyi capital have been thrown into panic over the sit-at-home order by the members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, had earlier called on the residents of the five eastern states to stock food items ahead of the order.
However, some of the residents, on Saturday, stated that the sit-at-home was worrisome, noting that the order came at a period of harsh economy in the country.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that security operatives were patrolling major streets in the Abakaliki to maintain peace and order in the state capital.
It was further learnt that shops and markets were opened for business but residents in the state were still buying food items over fear of subsequent attack.
One of the traders, Mercy Nwafor, called on the Federal Government to find a lasting solution to the security challenges in the country.
“I am afraid of what is going to happen in the state in the period; they said, market will not be opened or businesses,” the trader said.
