EKO HOT BLOG reports that suspected hired assassins have reportedly killed a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sylvester Efeurhobo, in Delta State, Nigeria.
According to reports, the APC stalwart was shot dead in his country home in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state. Efeurhobo was the chairman of an APC support group in the area called the Achievers Group in Agbarho.
Party members and leaders have called on security agencies, particularly the police, to apprehend the assailants and ensure justice is served. They described the deceased as a dedicated party faithful, brother, father, and generous person. Meanwhile, the police have confirmed the killing and revealed that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder. An investigation is ongoing.
Speaking on the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, said that the police have launched an investigation into the matter. He also confirmed that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing. The PPRO assured the public that the police would do everything within their power to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure that justice is served.
The murder of Sylvester Efeurhobo has sparked outrage among party members and leaders in Delta State. It has also raised concerns about the safety of politicians and political leaders in the state.
The APC leaders have called on the government and security agencies to step up their efforts to ensure the safety and security of citizens in the state.
