EKO HOT BLOG reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has launched an investigation into the alleged anti-party activities of Senator Amos Bulus, the Senator representing Gombe South, and other party members.
The APC accused Senator Bulus of working against the party during the recently concluded general election and has recommended stiffer penalties for him, including possible expulsion from the party.
The investigation comes after the party recommended a similar probe into the activities of Senator Danjuma Goje, who represents Gombe Central, for allegedly working against the party in the presidential and governorship elections held on February 25 and March 18, respectively.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, the Chairman of APC in Bambam ward, Balanga Local Government Area of the state, Muhammad Kaka, expressed concern that Senator Bulus, who has benefited from the ruling party, failed to contribute to the party’s success in the 2023 election. Kaka added that characters like Senator Bulus “should not be tolerated in or around our party.”
The ward publicity secretary, Michael Jonah, also stated that a committee has been set up and given two weeks to investigate Senator Bulus’s role in both the presidential and governorship elections.
The investigation is part of the party’s efforts to ensure discipline and loyalty among its members. The APC has previously warned that it will not hesitate to take action against members who work against the party’s interest in any election.
