Governor Hope Uzodimma, the Forum’s chairman, briefed newsmen on the meeting’s outcome, urging protest organizers to embrace roundtable dialogue. Uzodimma emphasized that President Tinubu’s administration is determined to address the current economic challenges.
The meeting also highlighted the need to improve the agriculture sector at the state level to tackle food security. The APC Governors intend to present their discussions to the Nigeria Governors’ Forum for further deliberation and communication to President Tinubu.
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma expressed disappointment that the organizers of the nationwide protest have not yet publicly explained their reasons for wanting to participate in street protests. Nigerians, particularly the youth, are proposing a nationwide protest against the ongoing economic hardships under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
However, Uzodinma said it was too early for such an event to happen under the current administration, urging the individuals involved to postpone their plans.
