EKO HOT BLOG reports that rising from a closed-door meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Hope Uzodimma, declared that the reforms—initially met with criticism—are now gaining both domestic and international validation.

“At the beginning of this administration, opposition voices were very loud in criticising the government’s reform policies. But today, the president is being vindicated,” Uzodimma said, referencing praise from institutions like the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The strategic session, which included APC governors, ministers, and party leaders, served as a platform to assess the administration’s progress, reinforce party unity, and align on how to sustain support for Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria.

Uzodimma noted that unity and internal democracy remain crucial to the APC’s continuity. “This government was produced by all progressive governors. Every person here today is an APC member, regardless of their official position,” he said.

He added that the party must stand by Tinubu, describing him as a “brave man” committed to national transformation.

On preparations for Tinubu’s upcoming second anniversary in office, the governor revealed that the APC’s National Working Committee (NWC) will soon unveil a full schedule of commemorative events. “The anniversary will be both a celebration and a time of reflection,” he said.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who also addressed the media, described the gathering as “a family meeting” among party stakeholders to review progress.
