EKO HOT BLOG reports that this visit comes shortly after opposition leaders, including former Vice President and 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufa’i, met with Buhari at the same location.
Political observers have interpreted the opposition’s earlier visit as a strategic move to consolidate efforts and present a united front ahead of the 2027 general elections. The meeting was seen as an attempt to align forces against the current administration, sparking speculations about shifting political dynamics.
Before the opposition’s visit, Buhari had received APC governors at his Kaduna home, a meeting during which he restated his loyalty to the ruling party.
Reaffirming his political allegiance, Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, issued a statement emphasizing the former President’s commitment to the APC.

The statement read: “Without referring to any individual, cast of characters, or issues, principles and ideals currently being discussed by Party leaders at various levels, former President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated what he’s said times without number, that he is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and would like to be addressed as a loyal member of the party.”
The APC leadership’s visit appears to be part of ongoing efforts to strengthen internal party unity and maintain Buhari’s influence as a stabilizing figure ahead of the next electoral cycle.
As political realignments continue to unfold, Buhari’s Kaduna residence has become a key destination for both ruling and opposition figures seeking endorsement and strategic alliances.
