The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has hosted a meeting at the State House in Abuja to resolve the ongoing crisis of the ruling party.
The meeting was called to review major issues which include the tenure extension of the APC caretaker committee led by the governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni.
Recall that the party had in late November scheduled the meeting to review its position and deliberate on its next line of action as it concerns its national leadership.
In its decision, the ruling party in the emergency meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari extended the tenure of the Party National Caretaker Committee until June 30, 2021.
The NEC also dissolved the executive committees in all wards across the country, which include local governments, states and zonal levels respectively.
Present at the meeting was Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila, and governors of the party.
Members of the now-dissolved state executive committees were also virtually in attendance.
