EKO HOT BLOG reports that highlighting Adesina’s legacy, Tinubu praised him as a fearless champion of democracy, dedicated to service and good governance, whose ideals should inspire the progressive movement in Oyo State. The event’s theme, “Enhancing Governance in Nigeria: Insights from History, Strategies for Tomorrow,” focused on governance improvements and future strategies for national progress.
The president urged the APC members to honor Adesina’s memory by uniting as a strong force to restore the state to a progressive path. “Adesina upheld democratic ideals that empower citizens to make their voices heard in governance. To truly honor him, all progressives must rally together to win the state back by 2027,” Tinubu emphasized.
Guest lecturer Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, represented by Senator Shuaib Salisu, spoke on the need for Nigerians to re-evaluate their values to cultivate responsibility, integrity, and hard work, highlighting the detrimental effects of a culture of indiscipline and greed.
Prominent figures at the event included former Ekiti Governors Adeniyi Adebayo and Kayode Fayemi, former Senate Leader Teslim Folarin, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, former Deputy Governor Iyiola Oladokun, acting APC State Chairman Alake Adeyemo, and other APC leaders.
