The incident took place in his hometown in Oru East Local Government Area, leaving the community shocked and grieving.

Captain Enoch, who also happened to be a kinsman of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, was targeted and murdered while returning from an APC Stakeholders meeting held at the Oru-East council headquarters.

According to an eyewitness account shared with Daily Trust, Captain Enoch was ambushed by his assailants, who instructed him to stop his vehicle before opening fire on him. The shooting occurred near Awomama Technical School in Oru-East. Following the attack, the gunmen callously dumped his lifeless body into the trunk of his car.
