APC Speaks On Imminent Increase In Petrol Prices

  • The party says the time is not ripe

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked Nigerians not to fret over speculation of an impending hike in petrol prices.

Speaking at an event in Abuja on Tuesday John Akpanudoedehe, secretary of the APC Caretaker and Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), said pump price would not be increased anytime soon.

The event, which was organised by the party’s professionals forum and held at the party’s national secretariat, was aimed at showcasing the achievements of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

According to NAN, Akpanudoedehe, who represented Mai Mala Buni, chairman of the caretaker committee, thanked the forum for enlightening Nigerians on the achievements, programmes and policies of the administration.

“Another thing we have achieved which is recently is the issue in the pump price of petroleum, the party said no to it,” Akpanudoedehe said.

“It doesn’t matter the circumstances, the party say the time is not ripe, that is the position of the party and they listened.”

He assured the forum that the APC leadership will continue to partner with it, adding that Buhari is a listening president.

“Many of the things you complained about, he already knows, once you bring anything or those issues before him, he will take it with commitment,” he said.
