APC Wants Tribunal To Upturn Engr Seyi Makinde’s Victory
The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State has headed to the State Election Petition Tribunal to challenge the victory of Engr Seyi Makinde, who contested on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The party is praying the tribunal to upturn the victory of the PDP governorship candidate.
In a petition, APC listed the Independent National Electoral Commission as first respondent while Engr Makinde and PDP are second and third respondents, respectively.
The PDP Secretary, Mr. Wasiu Adeleke, said his party would never fidget at the news, adding that “Engr. Seyi Makinde won overwhelmingly and polled the highest number of votes and was subsequently declared winner.”
Meanwhile, spokesman for Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Mr. Yemi Sonde, he said it was not the APC candidate that filed the petition, but the APC.
Initially, the chairman of the ruling party, Chief Akin Oke had said his party had not ruled out the possibility of going to tribunal to contest the victory of the PDP candidate.
