Yahaya Bello, Kogi governor, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) will emerge triumphant in the 2023 presidential election because it has done well in developing the country.
Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, on Thursday, Bello said APC presidential candidate for the 2023 election will be welcomed and accepted by the populace.
And in what could appear to be a subtle admission of the division of the citizens along the religious and ethnic line under President Muhammadu Buhari administration, Bello noted that APC will provide a presidential candidate that is fair and just and that will unify the country.

He also belittles and disregards the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) ambition to wrest power from APC, describing the move is a “lofty dream” and ”castles in the air”.
“One thing I can assure Nigerians is that APC will produce a president that is going to be the unifier – that is going to be fair and just,” he said.
“The majority of Nigerians irrespective of religion, ethnicity or where they come from will accept 100 per cent in 2023.”
The governor said for defecting to the APC, Dave Umahi, Ebonyi governor, should be awarded politician of the year.
As gathered by Eko Hot Blog, Bello said there is nothing wrong for either the north-central or south-east to seek the presidency because they have been deprived “in the national polity”.
According to him, politicians from the opposition parties are joining the APC because of the “sterling” leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that the party is willing to give anyone an opportunity to aspiring to become president.
The governor said the APC-led federal government has done well in developing country and that it “is guaranteed a massive victory in 2023”.
