Appeal Court Voids Federal High Court Rulings Against PDP Leaders

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has overturned the orders of Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, which had barred three prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains from participating in any future meetings of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

The PDP leaders affected by the initial ruling were former National Chairman Uche Secondus, former Rivers State Governor Celestine Omehia, and former House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Austin Opara.

In three separate unanimous judgments delivered on Friday, a three-member panel of the Court of Appeal upheld the appeals filed by Secondus, Omehia, and Opara, ruling that the Federal High Court lacked the jurisdiction to decide the matter.
