Otunba Abass who, made this call during the commissioning of the Old People Care Center on Thursday 6 January 2021 in Epe, describing it as a death trap and unbefitting of a road the Old People Care Center is situated.
“His excellency, I have a message for you. There is no doubt that in the entire Division of Lagos State, Epe has one of the best road networks to some extent. We have the potentials here, Epe is a tourism hub, the new heart of Lagos State.
“But of course, a project of this magnitude can only go well if the Governor continues to complement the efforts of the hard-working citizens of this community with good roads. What I mean by good roads is that in the last 6-7 years, that place there (the abandoned Oke-Oyinbo-Awolowo road) is a death trap,” he said.
Otunba Abass, who didn’t hide his feeling, described the road as an eyesore.
He called on the Governor to speed up the process with a definite timeline where work would begin.
He pleaded that his message should also be forwarded to the Deputy Governor, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and other well-meaning sons and daughters of Epe in Government.
