EKO HOT BLOG reports that The Arewa Youth Council of Nigeria has advocated for the Senate Presidency of the 10th National Assembly to be zoned to the North-West.

The group said zoning the position of the Senate President to the northwest would foster the interest of equity, fairness, and reward for hard work.

The group, at a press briefing in Kaduna State on Thursday, made the call to the newly-elected senators of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the president of the group, Isah Abubakar, the zone gave the APC the highest vote of 2,884,132, which, according to them, represents about 32% of the total votes gained by the party in the just concluded 2023 presidential election.

This performance, according to the Arewa youth leader, should be adequately rewarded for the sake of unity, peace, progress, and national cohesion.

It was therefore based on this that the Arewa youth opined that it is only right for the leadership of the APC to zone the number three position in the country to the North West, since the president-elect, Bola Tinubu comes from the southern region of the country.
