A heated argument between two neighbors in Ìráyè, Epe, turned violent after one accused the other of gossiping about her. The confrontation ended with the pregnant woman overpowering her opponent, Funmi, leaving her injured.

“I know she has been gossiping about me because I bring different men to the house,” Funmi said. “But it’s my life, and it’s nobody’s business.”

However, the pregnant woman denied the accusation, stating that Funmi had a habit of wrongly accusing people due to her own insecurities.

“She is always assuming people are talking about her because that is what she does all the time,” the pregnant woman said. “Imagine accusing me of gossiping about her with my own husband! She feels insecure anytime she sees two people sitting together.”

Eyewitnesses confirmed that what started as a verbal exchange quickly turned into a physical altercation, with the pregnant woman defending herself fiercely.

“Funmi started the fight, but the pregnant woman was stronger,” said Mrs. Adunni Ojo, who witnessed the incident. “Before anyone could separate them, Funmi had already sustained injuries.”

Another neighbor, Mr. Tunde Lawal, condemned the incident and urged people to resolve conflicts peacefully.
