Following the controversy that greeted release of pigeons by President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday, January 15, in Abuja during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the President’s Spokesperson, Femi Adesina has broken silence.
The special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina made this known on Friday, January 22, in his weekly piece.
Adesina said that the refusal of the pigeon to fly has nothing to do with the fortune or otherwise of the country.
It was reported that though some of the pigeons later flew when President Buhari was on his way back to his seat, their refusal to fly when the president released them attracted reactions on social media.
In an article on his Facebook page titled: ‘Reflection from a wreath-laying ceremony,’ described the pigeons’ refusal to fly as ‘a natural phenomenon.
